About Trisha Slowey
Born in Castlebar, County Mayo, Trisha is a graduate of NCAD (National College of Art and Design), where under the tuition of some of Irelands greatest art tutors of the time, she developed her love for painting in oils. As part of her studies, she also spent time in Connemara, County Galway, learning and taking inspiration from the renowned Irish artist Charles Lamb.
After graduating in 1966, she moved to Ballina in County Mayo, where she raised her 5 children and still taught art up until her retirement from teaching in 2016.
Over the years, Trisha has also collaborated with a local stained glass company designing and painting on various commissions for church windows. Her work can be seen in various churches throughout the west of Ireland.
Her paintings are all oil on canvas. Her inspiration is taken from her beautiful natural surroundings in Mayo, as well as from photos she and her family have taken during their travels around the world. All her paintings are one off originals and will never be duplicated.
Trisha’s paintings have sold worldwide and are in private collections in Hong Kong, The Netherlands, France, Italy, The United Kingdom, The United States and in Ireland.
She truly hopes you enjoy her paintings as much as she has enjoyed creating them.
